Which Package Do You Need?

1. Max Trailering Package (NHT) — This is the key to the max number. Towing capacity varies significantly depending on whether or not the available Max Trailering Package is equipped. The most capable setup is found on the Double Cab Standard Bed 2WD equipped with the 3.0L Duramax and NHT package. You can achieve 13,300 lbs by selecting the available 3.0-liter turbo-diesel, 2WD, Double Cab, and adding the Max Trailering Package and 20-inch tires. Includes enhanced cooling, upgraded rear axle, heavier springs, 9.76" rear, integrated trailer brake controller, and hitch view.

2. ProGrade Trailering Package — Cameras and tech, not extra capacity. Includes trailer tire pressure/temperature monitoring, see-through trailer view, jackknife alert, and 14 camera views including transparent trailer. Essential if you tow a camper down Hwy 17.

3. Standard Trailering — Every Sierra comes with GMC Pro Safety, including automatic emergency braking and lane keeping, plus trailer sway control and tow/haul mode.
